Plug type design Avoids inherent operational problems and breakage of the finger type.
Fail safe - loss of operating pressure will open to unload the cylinder Our actuators’ fail-safe design assures you that they will open on zero operating pressure, allowing for automatic unloading.
No matching is required to install. Saves installation cost and minimizes compressor downtime since machining on the heads or pockets requires hydro testing.
Balanced piston design:
  • Our unloader plunger is drilled to allow gas flow through the plunger to virtually equalize the pressure on the opposite side.
  • Our unloader piston does not feel the full effect of cyclic pressure.
  • Reduces residual force acting on plunger piston. Lower air or gas pressure required for operation - 70-100 psi.
  • Eliminates chatter or slamming action inherent in other designs and assures long plunger and seat life.
Complies with API 618. Meets applicable code. Double seals and vents prevent commingling of air in operating cylinder and gas in a compressor cylinder.
Cast iron rings to seal the plunger piston to the plunger. Assures a positive seal. Allows for slight misalignment often found in clearance pockets with handwheels furnished by OEMs.
Plunger is made of heat-treated 4140 material, hardened to 30-32 RC. Maximum resistance to wear.
Operating shaft is high-strength alloy steel and chrome-plated. Assures a positive seal, smooth operation and a long life.
Removable seal cartridge Simplified maintenance. Seal rings can be replaced without disturbing actuator body.
